CARRIER & SHIPPER QUESTIONS
Answers for the road ahead.
Find practical answers about working with Big Sky, sending an inquiry and using the right channel for your information.
Who does Big Sky support, and what equipment do you dispatch?
Big Sky supports independent owner-operators and small fleets with dispatch coordination. Equipment categories include dry vans, reefers, flat decks (flatbeds) and straight trucks. If you run specialized equipment, share the details so the team can discuss service fit and availability. Listing equipment does not guarantee a load, lane or capacity.
What dispatch support can be included?
Support can include load sourcing, broker communication, carrier paperwork, driver coordination and appointment follow-through. Depending on the scope agreed with your carrier, back-office coordination can include packet setup, insurance-certificate requests, broker credit checks, invoicing and factor-clearing coordination. Confirm exactly what is included before work begins.
Will I be forced to accept loads?
No. Big Sky’s approach is no forced dispatch. You set your operating preferences and preferred lanes, review opportunities and decide when you want to run. Rates, earnings and load availability are not guaranteed.
What does dispatch support cost?
The owner-provided options are Paperwork Only: Flat $50–$75 CAD / week; Standard Percentage: 5%–8% gross revenue per load (Most Popular); Fleet / Premium: Custom quote or flat $200–$300 CAD / week cap per truck. All dollar prices are CAD. Fleet / Premium’s weekly cap applies per truck. Standard Percentage includes 24/7 dedicated contact; the public office schedule remains unchanged. Confirm the final rate, scope and dedicated-contact arrangements in writing. Selecting a tier is a preference for discussion, not a contract, invoice or payment authorization. Confirm gross-revenue basis, fuel surcharge, accessorial treatment and any minimums in writing.
How do I apply for dispatch support?
Use the public Carrier Onboarding page to provide your legal business name, primary contact details, equipment, truck count, preferred regions and an operation note. You can select a preferred pricing tier or choose to discuss it with Big Sky; this is interest only, not acceptance of a contract or a charge. Consent is required. Big Sky reviews the application privately and discusses fit and next steps; submitting it does not confirm acceptance or availability.
Which onboarding documents can I upload?
Optional uploads are limited to company-level insurance certificates and carrier/company authority or registration documents. Accepted formats are PDF, JPG, PNG and text-only DOCX, up to 10 MB each and 20 MB total; PDFs are limited to eight pages. The legal business name must be visible and match your application. Files are screened locally before private storage; unreadable, mismatched or prohibited personal content is rejected. Do not upload driver’s licenses, medical records, personal IDs, bank/payment details or tax records.
How quickly will an application or inquiry be answered?
The website does not promise a response time or automatic approval. Big Sky follows up during its published office hours as the request is reviewed. For a follow-up question, call 587-962-2101 during office hours; do not resend sensitive documents through the public inquiry form or chat.
Can I book a shipment or get an instant freight quote here?
The website does not offer instant freight quotes, shipment booking or confirmed capacity. Use the Contact page to discuss your request. Big Sky must confirm service fit, availability, rates, responsibilities and any applicable requirements directly before there is a commitment.
What should I include in an initial shipper inquiry?
Start with your name, business contact details, general equipment needs, broad operating regions and the type of support you want to discuss. Do not include confidential customer/load information, rates, identity or payment details, or shipment documents in the public form or AI chat. Ask the team which approved channel to use for detailed information after service fit is confirmed.
Can I track a shipment or see available trucks online?
There is no public customer tracking, live capacity display or shipper account on this website. The load board and driver directory are private operational tools for the authorized Big Sky owner account. Contact your Big Sky representative directly to discuss an update; the public AI cannot see live load or driver records.
Can Big Sky support a particular lane or a Canada–USA movement?
Ask Big Sky to confirm the specific request directly. Allen’s 30-plus years of dispatch and driving experience across Canada and the USA is experience, not confirmation of current lane availability, cross-border capability or operating/brokerage authority. The displayed U.S. DOT number is an identifier only; do not treat it as proof of current status or authority.
How do I access the Dispatcher Portal?
The Dispatcher Portal opens Truxello’s separate sign-in in a new tab, where you use your own authorized Truxello account. It also links to Big Sky’s public Carrier Onboarding application. It is not Big Sky’s private application-review inbox, so visitors cannot review submissions. Big Sky does not provide single sign-on, create Truxello accounts or share website data with Truxello.
How do I contact Big Sky, and what are the office hours?
Call 587-962-2101 or email allen.bigskydispatch@outlook.com for general business inquiries. Public office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Mountain Time (America/Edmonton). Saturday, Sunday and Alberta statutory holidays are closed. The Contact page lists the next five Alberta general holiday dates. Standard Percentage separately includes 24/7 dedicated contact for that tier; arrange those contact details directly with Big Sky. This does not mean the public office or general phone line is staffed 24/7.
Can the AI help after hours, and will someone follow up on my chat?
The AI assistant can answer general public questions and displays an out-of-office greeting when the office is closed. Chat messages are not saved in the dispatch inbox or monitored for personal follow-up. Use the Contact form if you want the team to respond. The AI cannot access private records, book loads, confirm payments or make service commitments, and it does not answer phone calls.
How do I pay a Big Sky invoice by Interac e-Transfer?
Open Pay an Invoice and verify the invoice reference and billing email there—not in chat. A matching open invoice displays the exact CAD amount, recipient and invoice reference to include in the transfer message. Send the transfer through your own bank and check the recipient before sending. The website does not automatically verify transfers; the owner marks the invoice paid only after checking receipt in the business bank account. Contact Big Sky if your bank needs information that is not shown; do not assume Autodeposit is enabled.
Can I pay online with a debit or credit card?
Debit and credit card checkout are not currently available. Interac e-Transfer instructions are available for matching open invoices through Pay an Invoice. A separate non-Stripe processor would need to be selected and authorized before card payments can be offered. Never enter card numbers, expiry dates, security codes or bank credentials in the public forms or chat.
What happens to information I send through the website?
Inquiry and carrier-application details and consent records are stored privately for the authorized Big Sky account to review. Optional permitted company documents are screened locally before private storage; extracted screening text is not retained or sent to an AI service. AI messages are processed by Manus AI for replies but are not saved in the dispatch inbox. Do not submit sensitive personal, payment or confidential shipment information through public inquiry or chat.
